Familie Tiez was founded and is currently managed full time by Wakonda Cox. In September of 2010, I resigned from my position as Center Supervisor for CDI Head Start, giving up a decent salary and benefits to pursue the vision of Familie Tiez Corporation. I understood that it was going to take a lot of sweat, tears, hard work and determination to see this vision come to fruition. Being a single mother of three children, working a full time job and attending school, I knew the feeling of not having dependable adequate afterschool care for my children, therefore I wanted to provide support to families who are in similar situations. I also wanted to provide a safe, healthy and fun learning environment for the youth in our community. I truly believed that with the vision God has placed within me I can help to impact and change the lives of the children and families in this area. It is not my goal to become rich or to be recognized, I only want to do my part to better our community. I simply want to impact lives one child, one family and one community at a time. I have since then been working very diligently and will continue to work towards making sure my vision to positively change lives is manifested by any means necessary.
